I’m taking a course this weekend on communication. I decided to walk to the venue because I won’t be able to go to the gym this weekend.
It was a quiet walk at 6am this morning, and I had plenty of time to read. I finished reading Clayton Christiansen’s The Power of Everyday Missionaries and started Michelle Obama’s Becoming.
One of the reflections I had while walking was about how everything is interconnected. I was seeing similarities between the Mormonism in Christiansen’s book, stoicism, Buddhism, and the Landmark courses I’ve done recently.
And then I started to think about whether they’re really all that similar. Perhaps it’s merely because my perspective is so limited so I can only see things through certain lenses/filters. If everything I see is observed through that set of contexts, it makes sense that I see connections between so many things.
Maybe I’m just creating a self-fulfilling prophecy of sorts.
